GSL Cooperative

Formed in 2007

The Great Salt Lake Brine Shrimp Cooperative harvests and processes a majority of the global market for artemia, an important live prey for fish and shrimp larvae cultivated through aquaculture. At the beginning of the 2006 season, Dolphin Capital purchased an artemia harvesting operation and joined with a majority of the Great Salt Lake license holders to form a cooperative.
Goals of the co-op include:
  • Decrease harvesting and production costs through co-op efficiencies
  • Develop relationships with key customers globally
  • Focus on creating efficiencies and maximizing license holder distributions
Ken Jacquin sits on the board of the cooperative.
